Don't Fall........ RISE in Love

February 14, 2011
It's Valentine's Day today.

A lot has been said against the celebration of this day... by many.... for many reasons.

But still, love is one emotion without which human existence may not be possible, or else I should say, we are not worthy of being called "human beings' if we cannot love.

It is said that love of a mother for her children is the purest of all followed by that of a sister for her brother.  It's unconditional.

And without love for your woman or man, life on earth cannot be possible.

What can I say about love, so i just thought of putting some quotes on love (the man woman context) , which make a lot of sense to me.  Here they are:-

“If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don’t, they never were. ”          - Kahlil Gibran

"Our love is a relationship. And when love is a relationship, it creates misery. When love is a state of being, it creates bliss. A Buddha is also in love, but he is not trying to love you. Simply because of the way he is, love spreads. Love becomes a perfume and goes to the far comers of the earth."                                                                   -Osho

"But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls."
                                                                                              - Khalil Gibran
"Love is not a relationship between two persons. It is a state of mind within yourself. If you are loving, you are loving to everybody — not only to persons, but to things as well. Love moves from you to objects also. Even when you are alone, when no one is there, you are loving. It is just like breathing. If I take an oath that I will breathe only when I am with you, only death can follow. Breathing is not relationship; it is not tied to any relationship. And for the etheric body, love is just like breathing. It is its breath."
                                                                                                  - Osho

Have a lovely day!

Love is feeling for someone to the extent that one starts putting other's happiness and sorrows before his/her own. True love always surrounds with it, a pain, sweet pain as I call it.
As for the rest of it, we can't learn love from philosophers, we make our own definitions.

Here is another quote on Love which i just remembered..Shakespeare's famous poem...!!!!

"Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds
Or bends wid the remover to remove
Oh no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken....
If this be error and upon me proved
I never writ, nor no man ever loved."

I read it somewhere on facebook,
If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, set them on fire

Contemplation of the meaning of fire is, well, debatable and to suit individual tastes.

All in all, yes. Love is a state of being, its not compulsion, it just flows like a river, or travels like a fragrance.

Last week would have been great financially for vendors selling roses and wholesale teddies. I don’t think I should mention about Chocolates manufacturing companies. I never make it out why people are so desperate to eat an insecticide. This year was no exception to all those years of ignorance which was the root cause of still mine being single. I would rather love to blog, read newspapers and drink tea than circle around a girl hostel.

BA- oh fire! first, yes it could be individual interpretation to this word... but mostly a lot of negativity is attached to this word ie Love, somehow it takes a lot to understand the true meaning. and i really feel bad when ppl misinterpret it. am sure that is how u feel too.

Shilpa - thanks :) ok third one :) Happy V day to u too!

Rachit - LOL! Welcome here!

Much has been said about Valentines, and over the years I keep wondering why do we need this one day to remind us of the loved ones around. The second is, as years have gone by I've slowly but steadily lost faith in that concept called love. I think it has lost its purity long time back; but do wish that we stand by what people like Kahlil once said!

I have heard of the 1st quote often but never knew it was Gibran's!

But what I feel is in the name of Valentine day, Love is commercialized, pressurized and vandalized!

Let every day be a valentine, let love embrace all.

Thanks for quotes. It is true that love is of many hues, as rightly brought out by you. True love does not make one possessive but makes one care for partner without any expectations.

Take care

Vinni - life is not that bad too... don't lose faith.

Lakshmi - let's think of the brighter side, the purer aspect of love...

Jack - well said uncle. thanks for dropping by. Am so sorry, not able to catch up with u, but had noticed u were not in the blogosphere for long. Hope all's well. regards.
